National Voter’s Day is celebrated in India on January 25th each year. It was first observed in 2011 to encourage more people to participate in the electoral process. The day is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of voting, ensuring that all eligible voters, particularly first-time voters, understand their rights and responsibilities in a democratic system. On this day, the Election Commission of India organizes various programs and activities to promote voter participation, such as voter registration drives, awareness campaigns, and events at schools and colleges. It’s a reminder that voting is not just a right, but also a civic duty to help shape the future of the country.
